Nine Senators Join ADC

Nine Nigerian senators from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP), and All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) have officially defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) during National Assembly plenary, amid opposition tensions

The Nine senators are:

Ireti Kingibe – LP to ADC
Mohammed Ogoshi Onawo – PDP to ADC
Aminu Waziri Tambuwal – PDP to ADC
Binos Dauda Yaroe – PDP to ADC
Austin Akobundu – PDP to ADC
Enyinnaya Abaribe – APGA to ADC
Victor Umeh – LP to ADC
Tony Nwoye – LP to ADC
Lawal Adamu Usman – PDP to ADC

Earlier reports also highlighted other defections, including six PDP members to the ruling All Progressives Congress and six YPP and LP lawmakers joining ADC.

The defections were formally announced during plenary and mark a significant shift in the balance of power within the National Assembly.
