NSCDC Deploys Personnel to Secure festive season in Jigawa
the nigeria security and civil defence corps (nscdc) in jigawa state has deployed officers across all 27 local government areas to ensure peaceful christmas and new year celebrations. this move comes as christian communities prepare for festivities, with residents busy shopping, buying clothes, and stocking up on food for family gatherings and church services.
The deployment includes regular and specialized units, such as operations, anti-vandal, and intelligence, to provide security coverage at worship centers, public places, parks, and markets. nscdc commandant in jigawa state has instructed officers to maintain professionalism and adhere to standard operating procedure.
Places of worship, public utilities, and vulnerable areas are being protected, with major entry and exit routes under surveillance. the public is urged to be law-abiding and report suspicious activities to security personnel. parents and guardians are advised to monitor their wards’ activities during the festive period, and the use of fireworks is discouraged to prevent panic and fire outbreak
The nscdc warns vandals and criminal elements to desist from targeting government installations and public utilities, stating that anyone apprehended will face the law.
