Ondo Senator Calls for Unity Amid APC Primary Election Controversy

Senator Olajide Ipinsagba, representing Ondo North Senatorial District, has appealed to aggrieved members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State to accept the outcome of the party’s recent primary elections in good faith.

The primary process has sparked significant unrest in the state, with party members staging protests in Akure to contest the list of candidates submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission. The protesters allege that the National Working Committee’s final list does not accurately reflect the results of the National Assembly primaries.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Senator Ipinsagba urged his fellow party members to put aside their differences and focus on the upcoming 2027 general elections. He stressed that unity is essential for the party to secure the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and to ensure victory for APC candidates across the National and State Houses of Assembly.

“I want to appeal to all our party members across Ondo North Senatorial District and Ondo State in general to close ranks, embrace reconciliation, and work collectively towards securing greater victories,” the senator stated. He characterized unity as the primary pillar for sustaining the party’s success and delivering democratic dividends to the electorate.

Senator Ipinsagba also lauded President Tinubu for his commitment to fairness and internal party cohesion during the nomination process. Looking ahead, the senator reaffirmed his commitment to his constituents, pledging to continue prioritizing socio-economic development, infrastructure improvements, and youth empowerment within his district.
