Oyebanji Approves N102.16m Car Loans For Ekiti Workers
Biodun Oyebanji, Governor of Ekiti State has approved the disbursement of N102.16 million as car loans to 280 workers in the state.
Akin Oyebode, Commissioner for Finance, said it was part of the state government’s commitment to workers’ welfare, adding, “The car loan initiative is geared towards ensuring efficiency of workforce in the state.”
Oyebode, according to a press statement from the Ministry of Finance on Sunday, said the Biodun Oyebanji government “would continue to find innovative ways of improving public service efficiency to ensure Ekiti State remains one of the most effective governments in the country.”
The commissioner said that selection of the beneficiaries was based on merit in line with Oyebanji’s agenda on good governance.
He added that the Oyebanji government had as well paid one
month salary arrears to local government workers just as he raised hopes of finding a lasting solution to the gratuity arrears of pensioners.
Oyebode recalled that the All Progressives Government in the state under the immediate past governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, disbursed N634.34million and 550.79million 3,250.00 to 1,915 and 1,945 beneficiaries respectively as car and housing loans to civil servants in the state.
