Oyo APC Reaffirms Candidate List for National Assembly Elections
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has formally reiterated that its list of candidates for the upcoming National Assembly elections remains unchanged.
In a statement issued on Monday by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Olawale Sadare, the leadership confirmed that the current list was finalized by the National Working Committee based on the results of the primaries held in May. According to the party, these names have already been officially uploaded to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal and processed through the required nomination procedures at the national secretariat in Abuja.
The party’s leadership addressed recent reports of conflicting claims on social media, describing them as misleading attempts by unsuccessful aspirants to create internal discord.
“For the avoidance of doubt, nothing has changed from what was made public last week,” Sadare stated. The party then released the finalized list of its senatorial and House of Representatives candidates to settle the matter.
For the senatorial districts, the party confirmed Senator Yunus Akintunde (Oyo Central), Hon. Aderemi Oseni (Oyo South), and Mrs. Hannah Ogunesan (Oyo North) as its official flagbearers. The list of House of Representatives candidates includes Hon. Akeem Adeyemi, Hon. Segun Odebunmi, Hon. Tajudeen Abisodun Kareem, Hon. Akin Alabi, Hon. Olafisoye Akinmoyede, Hon. Folake Olunloyo-Oshinowo, Hon. Tolulope Akande-Shadipe, Hon. Olamijuwon Alao-Akala, Hon. Olatubosun Oladele, Hon. Umar Farouk Alao, Hon. Ibrahim Iyiola, Hon. Sarafa Olaoniye, Hon. Saheed Adejare Yusuf, and Hon. Yusuf Asimiyu Osuolale.
The APC emphasized that the window for political party nominations has officially closed. The party warned individuals currently parading themselves as candidates to cease such activities or face potential consequences.
“There cannot be two candidates for a single ticket,” the statement concluded, urging members to maintain decorum and respect the internal processes of the party.
