Professor Babatunde Omojola Inaugurated as BOUESTI’s New Vice-Chancellor

Professor Babatunde Andrew Omojola has been formally inaugurated as the second substantive Vice-Chancellor of the Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology (BOUESTI).

The ceremony, presided over by the University’s Governing Council Chairman, Professor Dipo Aina, marks a pivotal leadership transition for the institution following a selection process that initially considered 19 candidates.

In his inaugural address, Professor Omojola acknowledged the profound responsibility of his role and pledged to lead the university into a new era of transformation and growth. He expressed gratitude to the Ekiti State Government, led by Governor Biodun Oyebanji, and the Governing Council for their trust.

Highlighting the university’s rapid ascent to 29th position among Nigerian universities within just five years—achieved without a takeoff grant—Omojola underscored the institution’s resilience. He outlined his administration’s core priorities, which include driving research-led innovation, enhancing revenue generation, fostering wealth creation, and ensuring the welfare of both staff and students.

“My vision for BOUESTI is to build a world-class, knowledge-based university that is a sought-after institution,” Omojola stated, emphasizing that excellence is a shared and ongoing journey requiring collective effort.

In his remarks, Pro-Chancellor Professor Dipo Aina urged the new VC to lead with wisdom and clear purpose, expressing confidence in his ability to consolidate BOUESTI’s status as a premier institution.

He also paid tribute to the foundational work of the pioneer Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olufemi Adeoluwa, whose leadership provided a stable platform for the university’s early growth.
