Security Network Rescues Kidnapped Mother and Son in Kwara

A woman and her son, who were abducted in Igbope, Oorelope Local Government Area of Oyo State, have been rescued following a coordinated operation in Kwara State. The rescue was carried out by the Iru Ekun Security Network, led by Yoruba nation activist Sunday Adeyemo, widely known as Sunday Igboho, in collaboration with the Intelligence Response Team of the Nigeria Police Force.

The rescue operation concluded in the early hours of Saturday after a three-day effort involving intensive tracking and intelligence gathering. According to the rescue team, the operation involved luring the kidnappers with a ransom to pinpoint their location in a forest area near Bode Sadu, Kwara State.

When the suspects arrived to collect the ransom around midnight on Saturday, security personnel initiated a tactical engagement. A fierce exchange of gunfire ensued, forcing the kidnappers to flee into the forest while suffering bullet wounds. During a follow-up search of the area, the security team located the victims, Adijat Kubura and Abdulmalik, who had been abandoned by their captors.

The rescued victims have been moved to the Igboho General Hospital for medical attention. The success of the mission was attributed to the cooperation between the local security group and federal law enforcement, specifically noting the support provided by the Inspector General of Police, who coordinated efforts across Kwara and Niger states.

In the aftermath of the rescue, the security network reiterated its commitment to community safety, urging residents to remain vigilant and avoid spreading unverified information that could cause public alarm. Local authorities continue to pursue the suspects who escaped during the operation.
