Soludo’s Wife Advocates Natural Foods for Healthier Living
The First Lady of Anambra State, Dr. Nonye Soludo, has called on Nigerians to prioritize natural, locally sourced foods over highly processed alternatives to promote overall well-being and combat lifestyle-related diseases. Dr. Soludo, who is the founder of the non-governmental organization ‘Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo’, emphasized that returning to organic nutrition is one of the most effective ways to invest in long-term health.
In a statement released on Monday, the First Lady highlighted that Nigeria is blessed with an abundance of nutrient-rich food options that are often overlooked. She urged citizens to build their daily diets around readily available local produce, including fruits, vegetables, legumes, whole grains, roots, and tubers. She noted that these indigenous foods provide the essential vitamins, clean carbohydrates, and minerals needed to keep the body strong.
Addressing common misconceptions about healthy eating, Dr. Soludo clarified that maintaining a nutritious diet does not require exorbitant spending or restrictive, stressful regimens. Instead, it relies on making consistent, mindful choices during daily meal preparation. According to the First Lady, shifting away from heavily processed foods yields immediate and long-term biological dividends, such as reduced risk of chronic lifestyle diseases, enhanced immune function, improved digestive health, and better weight management. She concluded by encouraging Nigerians to view every wholesome meal as a vital investment toward a longer, stronger, and happier life.
