Temi Otedola, daughter of Nigerian businessman Femi Otedola, has been appointed as the first-ever Nigerian Digital Brand Ambassador for L’Oréal Paris makeup. This historic partnership comes less than a month after her older sister, Florence Otedola, aka DJ Cuppy, was named King’s Trust International Ambassador to King Charles III.

Temi joins an elite group of ambassadors, including Kendall Jenner and Viola Davis, who have also partnered with the renowned cosmetics company.

L’Oréal Paris, a multinational personal care company based in France, has a diverse range of products that include hair colour, skincare, sun protection, makeup, perfume, and hair care.

In a statement on June 9, 2024, L’Oréal Paris hailed the partnership with Temi as a significant milestone, marking the brand’s first ambassadorial deal with a Nigerian representative.

This development highlights Temi’s growing influence and popularity in the entertainment industry, solidifying her position as a prominent figure in Nigerian pop culture.

“Standing alongside fellow ambassadors, including Kendall Jenner and Viola Davis, this collaboration marks a significant milestone in celebrating beauty in all its forms across the African continent and reaffirms L’Oréal Paris’s commitment to diversity and empowerment.

“As the face of L’Oréal Paris Makeup, Temi will headline the latest Infallible Makeup Range campaigns, showcasing her unique style and celebrating the diverse beauty of Africa.”
Issima Oniangue, L’Oréal Paris’ General Manager for Make-up in Sub-Saharan Africa, praised Temi’s unique style, confidence, and passion for beauty, stating that she perfectly captures the company’s values of empowerment and sophistication.
Ms Oniangue added that the partnership marks a new chapter in beauty for the region, focusing on innovation and trends while celebrating the unique beauty of African women across the continent.
“We are excited to inspire and bring the best of beauty to every corner of the continent. As the #1 Beauty Brand Worldwide, L’Oréal Paris has empowered women for more than 110 years with our state-of-the-art products backed by scientific advances. Their partnerships and initiatives are dedicated to promoting equal rights and self-esteem,” she said.
“‘Because I’m worth it’, the L‘Oréal Paris slogan coined in 1971, is no less relevant today. For many years, it has honoured extraordinary women who volunteer their time to serve their communities. Temi Otedola’s journey with L’Oréal Paris Makeup promises to celebrate beauty, empowerment, and cultural richness, resonating with audiences across Sub-Saharan Africa and beyond.”
Expressing her excitement on Instagram, the 28-year-old described her appointment as unbelievable, noting that she was elated to become the first-ever Nigerian ambassador for L’Oreal.
Temi, who played the role of Moremi Oluwa in the 2020 film ‘Citation’, said she was excited to share L’Oréal’s iconic products, stating that the L’Oréal woman is empathetic, unapologetic, and infallible.

“I’m honoured to be the first Nigerian representing LOréal across Africa and on a global stage. This has been the hardest secret to keep for the last six months. She’s Worth It! I can still remember playing with my mom’s L‘Oréal Lipstick and Mascara”, she added.

The 2021 Ghana Movie Awards winner for ‘Best Actress’ in a Leading Role said her appointment was a dream come true.
Temi, who is married to singer Mr Eazi, said she was excited about the moments and milestones she will create with the L’Oréal family.
She said: “Words cannot describe how honoured I am to partner with L’Oréal Paris Makeup. L’Oréal Paris was amongst the first beauty products I was introduced to as a young girl playing with my mother’s makeup.
“I have grown up loving their products and deeply respecting the company’s values and vision. The L’Oréal Paris woman is someone I deeply resonate with—confident, unapologetic, and always striving to make a difference in the world. I’m so excited to begin this beautiful journey with a brand that truly inspires me.”

Court dismisses Iyabo Ojo’s N1bn defamation suit against Lizzy Anjorin

A Lagos High Court sitting in Osborne, Ikoyi, has dismissed a N1 billion defamation suit filed by Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo against her colleague, Lizzy Anjorin.

Justice Olabisi Akinlade, who presided over the matter, held that the suit was incompetent due to procedural defects and a fundamental flaw in the originating processes. The court also ordered Ojo’s lawyer, Dr. Olabimpe Ajegbomogun, to pay N500, 000 to Anjorin’s lawyer, Barrister Ademola Olabiyi.

The case, marked LD/ADR/5292/2023, was instituted by Iyabo Ojo, who sought N1 billion in damages for alleged defamation. However, Anjorin’s counsel, Olabiyi, filed a preliminary objection, arguing that the suit failed to comply with mandatory pre-action protocols required under the Lagos State High Court Civil Procedure Rules.

Key among the objections was that the Statement of Compliance with Pre-Action Protocol (Form 01) accompanying the Writ of Summons was unsigned by Ojo’s counsel. Olabiyi contended that this omission rendered the suit null and void. He also highlighted that the Writ itself did not strictly follow the format prescribed by the court rules and lacked proper endorsement of the reliefs sought.

The defence further submitted that the unsigned documents in the court file and the absence of a Certified True Copy (CTC) raised concerns about the legitimacy of the processes filed by Ojo. Olabiyi noted that a search of the court file on April 2, 2024, revealed that the original copy of the Writ was unsigned and that the copy filed by the claimant in her counter-affidavit was an uncertified photocopy.

In response, Iyabo Ojo’s counsel argued that the procedural objections did not affect the substance of the suit and urged the court to discountenance the technicalities raised by the defence. The counter-affidavit claimed the Writ was properly signed and that any errors could be amended before the trial commenced.

However, Justice Akinlade ruled that the failure to sign the original Writ of Summons at the time of filing was a fatal defect. The judge noted that the certified copy obtained by Anjorin’s counsel confirmed that the Writ was unsigned when the suit was filed and assigned to the court.

Mohbad: Lagos Coroner’s Court orders prosecution of auxiliary nurse for unlawful medical practice

The Lagos State Coroner’s Court sitting in Ikorodu, has recommended the criminal prosecution of auxiliary nurse Feyisayo Ogedengbe over the d3ath of singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.

Delivering the court’s findings on Friday, July 11, 2025, Magistrate C.A. Shotobi held that the nurse acted with gross negligence by administering an injection on the singer without a doctor’s prescription.

Although the court ruled out foul play or homicide in the case, it held that the actions of the nurse were both “unlawful and professionally negligent.”

“In pursuant to section 29 of the coroner laws of Lagos State, this court recommends that the prosecution of the unlicensed medical personnel by the office of the Director of Public Prosecution should commence appropriate prosecution against Felicia Ogedengbe for unlawful medical practice and gross negligence,” the magistrate said.

Recall that Ogedengbe was arrested following the singer’s d3ath under controversial circumstances on September 11, 2023.

Testifying before Justice C.A. Shotobi at the Coroner’s Court in March 2025, she disclosed that the rapper had a reaction and started vomiting after she administered a tetanus injection to him.
