Yuletide: Police Ban Sales, Use Of Fireworks In Nasarawa
The Nasarawa State Police Command has banned the sale and use of fireworks before, during and after the Yuletide celebration.
The police announced the ban in a statement signed by the state state’s command spokesperson DSP Ramhan Nansel.
Nansel said the ban was to avoid unnecessary panic and tension due to the security situation in the country, and told sellers of the products to stop, warning that anyone apprehended would face the full wrath of the law.
Nansel added the Commissioner of Police (CP), Maiyaki Muhammed-Baba, enjoined all residents to cooperate with security agencies to ensure law and order in the state.
He said that the CP advised parents and guardians to ensure that their children and wards desist from using fireworks.
