VIDEO: APC Primary in Ekiti North: Returning Officer Under Fire for Alleged Result Manipulation
Controversy has trailed the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primary for Ekiti North District, following allegations of result manipulation in Ire Ekiti Ward I.
Party members reportedly queued en masse to vote for Senator Ayo Arise. However, witnesses alleged that the returning officer said to be an appointee of Governor Biodun Oyebanji still went ahead to record only 15 votes for Arise, ignoring the visibly overwhelming support for the senator.
Reacting to the development, some party faithful described the incident as shocking, with one source remarking, “Wonders, they say, shall never end.”
As of press time, the state APC leadership and the governor’s office had not issued an official response to the allegations.
