China Warns US To Repair “Strained” Relations Or Face “Catastrophic” Consequences
Foreign Minister Qin Gang of China has stated that more strained relations between Washington and Beijing will have “catastrophic effects.”
Qin made the remark on the margins of this year’s National People’s Congress session.
“If the United States does not press the brakes and goes down the wrong path, no amount of guardrails will prevent derailing, and there will undoubtedly be friction and confrontation,” he added.
Washington’s perspective of Beijing, according to Qin, is “extremely twisted.”
The United States regards China as “the principal opponent and the most serious geopolitical challenge,” according to Qin.
As a result of this assumption, “US-China policy has completely veered from the rational and sound track.”
According to the diplomat, while America talks about competition, it actually aims to stifle China in all fields.
“If one athlete, instead of focusing on providing one’s best, always attempts to fool or even into the other, it will not be a fair competition, but intentional conflict and a foul,” Qin said of the connection.
The foreign minister urged the two superpowers to repair their relations, saying it is not an option, but a must.
