EFCC Chairman Denies Corruption, Challenges Critics to Provide Evidence
The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ola Olukoyede, has publicly challenged anyone to present evidence that he has ever accepted a bribe or been involved in fraud.
Speaking in a television interview aired on Sunday, Olukoyede firmly denied all allegations of corruption linked to him. He stated that throughout his tenure in various public roles—including as Chief of Staff and Secretary at the EFCC—he has never engaged in any fraudulent activity or accepted illicit payments.
“I’ve never been involved in any fraudulent activities. I challenge anybody to say… this man has ever collected one naira to influence my sense of judgment,” he declared.
The anti-graft boss also addressed the management of seized assets, asserting that no asset could be traced to him or his family. He emphasized his compliance with asset declaration laws at every stage of his career and noted that he had mandated his staff to do the same.
Olukoyede concluded by reiterating his challenge to the public, daring anyone with proof of wrongdoing to come forward.
