Fubara nominates caretaker chairmen, sends names to Rivers Assembly amid crises

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara has nominated caretaker chairmen for the 23 local government areas in the state.

In a statement issued on Tuesday night by the Clerk of the House, G.M. Gillis-West, the Assembly invited the nominees for screening on Wednesday by 8:00 am.

A memo sighted on Wednesday morning and signed by G.M Gills West, the Clerk of the Assembly, the Oko Jumbo led Assembly invited the nominees for screening as Caretaker Committee, CTC, Chairmen, and members for the 23 local government areas of the state today, Wednesday, June 19.

Governor Fubara, had on Tuesday, in a statewide broadcast directed the Heads of Local Government Administration to take over the leadership of their councils till further directives at expiration of the tenure of elected 23 local government Chairmen and Councilors.
