Immigration Service Graduates 1,626 Officers In Kano

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has graduated 1,626 officers from its Fourth Combined and Upgrading Course, 2026, at the Immigration Training School, Kano (ITSK) and the Digital Bridge Institute.

The Comptroller-General of Immigration, Kemi Nanna Nandap, represented by the Assistant Comptroller-General in charge of Human Resources Management, SU Agba, congratulated the graduating officers and charged them to uphold professionalism in their statutory duties.

Nandap said technology remains a critical enabler in addressing contemporary border security and migration management challenges, and reaffirmed the Service’s commitment to continuous training, upgrading and welfare of personnel.

In his address, the Commandant of the Immigration Training School, Kano, CIS AN Akuneme, said the course recorded the largest mobilisation in the history of the school.

He urged the graduating officers to adapt to the changing dynamics of border management by facilitating legitimate migration while preventing irregular migration and trans-border threats.

The Passing Out Parade featured merit awards for outstanding participants. The high point of the ceremony was the commissioning of an ultra-modern market constructed by the course participants.

The event was attended by representatives of various security agencies, senior serving and retired officers of the NIS.
