Kogi Police Urge Residents to Collaborate for Safe Yuletide
The Kogi State Police Command is calling on residents to work with security agencies to ensure a peaceful and safe Christmas and New Year celebrations. Commissioner of Police Naziru Kankarofi emphasised the importance of vigilance, urging citizens to report suspicious activities, avoid illegal gatherings, and practise responsible driving.
Kankarofi advised residents to report strangers and suspicious behaviour to authorities, avoid cult-related activities, and drive safely. He also encouraged residents to activate neighbourhood watch programmes and work with community leaders.
“The police commend the people of Kogi State for their resilience and law-abiding conduct,” Kankarofi said. “With simple precautions, we can safeguard our families, friends, markets, churches, and roads. Let’s make this Christmas a season of hope, peace, and security!”
The police urged citizens to report concerns to the nearest station, stressing that community-police collaboration is key to preventing crime. “We are stronger when communities and police unite; together, let’s make Kogi a crime-free Christmas and beyond,” Kankarofi said.
