Old Students Celebrate 40th Anniversary | The Harmattan News

Jide Adeleye

The President of the 1982 graduating set of Saint Augustine’s Comprehensive High School Oye-Ekiti in Oye Local Government Area of Ekiti State, Mr Jide Adeleye, will today Friday, September 16, 2022 lead his peers on a historical visit to their alma mater to present gifts as part of activities marking their 40th anniversary.
According to a press statement by the President, the visit will avail the over 80 men and women that will converge at the assembly ground to take stock of the necessary facilities required to make the school an enviable learning centre.
The school has over the years benefitted greatly from alumni under the aegis of St Augustine’s Comprehensive High School, Oye Ekiti Old Students’ Association (SACHSO) as part of the corporate social responsibilities of the former students.
Just last year, a hybrid library was donated by Chevron and NNPC and facilitated by Mr Olu Ogunmoyin, an alumnus of the school, through the Ekiti State Government, as a demonstration of giving back to the alma mater. The hybrid library, comprising e-library and physical library facilities, was donated to the school alongside a generator house and water facilities.
Other landmark projects completed by the old students’ association included, among others, perimeter fencing of the school, provision of boreholes, establishment and equipping of IT centre, reroofing and refurbishing of existing buildings and outright construction of new ones, all aimed at giving the school a facelift and enhance its educational development.
