Resident Doctors Suspend Planned Nationwide Strike

The Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors has suspended its planned indefinite strike, which was scheduled to begin on Monday, following the intervention of Vice President Kashim Shettima.

NARD’s President, Dr. Mohammad Suleiman, stated that the association’s National Executive Council decided to grant the Vice President’s request for more time to address the doctors’ grievances.

The union had announced the strike, citing the Federal Government’s failure to implement previously agreed-upon terms. However, the National Industrial Court in Abuja issued a restraining order on Friday, barring the doctors from proceeding with the industrial action.
