Senegal cruises to AFCON semi-final

Senegal have booked their place in the semi-finals of the ongoing 2025 edition of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) after a hard-fought victory in their quarter-final clash against Mali at the Grand Stade de Tanger in Morocco.

Senegal defeated Mali by a lone goal scored by Iliman Ndiaye, and sustained from the first half of the game into full time.

Senegal delivered a composed and determined performance, showcasing their trademark solidity and attacking efficiency to secure progression into the last four of the continental tournament.

The result keeps Senegal firmly on course in their quest for an AFCON title. They will now play either Egypt or Cote d’Ivoire on Wednesday in the semi-finals.
