Super Eagles Send Support to Teammate After Knee Surgery

Super Eagles players have sent messages of support to striker Victor Boniface following his successful knee surgery on Saturday.

The procedure took place as Nigeria advanced to the AFCON semi-finals with a 2-0 win over Algeria. In a video shared online, captain Wilfred Ndidi, vice-captain Victor Osimhen, and other teammates wished the Bayer Leverkusen forward a speedy recovery.

Ndidi expressed confidence that Boniface would “come back stronger,” a sentiment echoed by Osimhen and Sevilla striker Akor Adams. Other players, including Raphael Onyedika and Samuel Chukwueze, also offered encouragement.

Boniface, who is on loan at Werder Bremen, has been ruled out for the rest of the season. Despite a challenging spell with limited playing time, Bremen confirmed his loan will continue until June 2026.

The 24-year-old last played for Nigeria in May 2025.
